Promotion of Tasar Silk
There are four types of Silk produced in the county – Mulberry , Tasar, Eri & Munga. Jharkhad is the leading producer of Tasar Silk in the country. In contributes about 70% to the country’s production. Tasar Silk is mainly reared on Asan and Arjun trees in the forests by the tribal people. More than 200,000 farmers are engaged in the rearing of Tasar Cocoon.
- Khadi Board is mainly engaged in post cocoon activities. It promotes reeling, spinning & weaving of Tasar Silk.
- Tasar Silk is organic in nature. The Board is a member of Silk Mark organisation of India, as it produces pure silk products. We produce Silk Sarees, Salwar Suits, Kurtas, Bandis, Jackets, Coats, shawl, Dupatta, Stole, Scarf & Home furnishing products of Tasar Silk
Cotton Fabric
Jharkhand State Khadi & Village Industries Board runs centres for production of cotton yarn and weaves fine cotton fabric, Sarees, Shawls, Salwar Suits, Bandis, etc.
Woollens
Khadi Board produces & sales Blankets, Bandi, Scarf, Mufflers, Caps, etc.
